Materials and methods –

Several materials, dyes, and media were used for identification purposes. List them separately. In Materials and Methods, you explain what the test is and what you use. In the results, you explain why you did this and what the results are. (For example, in M&M, you describe a Gram stain, the dyes, how the stain works, then in the results, you explain that your microbe was gram (_____) because the bacteria appeared (this color).

Discussion – based on your observations of the results, draw your conclusions. Provide a description of your microbe. Include the following in your description:

  • the FULL taxonomic name
  • basics about the microbe – where does it live? what does it look like (size, shape, capsule, flagella, etc.)? reservoir?
  • basics about the infection your patient had with this microbe – how is it transmitted? progression? treatment?

ESSAY GUIDELINES -:

Write a 1000-1500-word essay addressing each of the following points. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. There should be two main sections, one for each bullet below. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper.
